Precondition for creating automatic actions

In order for sensors to create an automatic actions, some pre-settings should first be made in the sensor settings. These are located in the desktop app under Sensors.

Sensor on/off

In order for the sensor to send data this setting should be set to "on".
Generally, this function must be enabled for an action to be created. If you don't want to have the sensor activated for a short time, e.g. to put it in a refrigerator, you can also activate it later.

Alarms on/off

Alarms can also be enabled/disabled. This makes sense e.g. if a sensor needs time to cool down or if a cleaning is done where the thresholds of the sensor are violated over a longer period of time.

Set threshold values

Temperature and humidity thresholds are set to define a specific range in which the device should measure. For example, if you enter "1" as the lower temperature limit and "8" as the upper temperature limit, the measured values should always be in the range between 1°C and 8°C. If these limits are exceeded, i.e. the temperature or humidity measured in the device is outside this range, an alarm can be triggered (the alarm must be activated for this). If you want to enter negative values, you can simply enter e.g. "-1".

Set alarm delay

You can enter any number of minutes. The entered number (i.e. the alarm delay) is the number of minutes a temperature violation is measured consecutively before an alarm is triggered. For example, if you enter 15 in "Alarm Delay", it means that a certain temperature must be consistently above/below for 15 minutes before an alarm is triggered. Thus, short-term temperature changes, e.g. by opening a device, will not automatically trigger an alarm if the temperature returns to the defined range within the time frame entered in "Alarm Delay".

Alert user

You can select users for each individual sensor/alarm to be alerted (via email or SMS) when an alarm is triggered. To define a new alarm user, go to "Sensors" , find the respective sensor and click on the "Edit" icon at the end of the line. Scroll down until you get to "Alert User". Here you can select the users to be alerted for this sensor by checking the boxes. Make sure that the sensor and alerts are also active by scrolling further down and checking that both sliders are active or green. Also, the user should have push notifications enabled.

Reminder delay

If an alarm is not resolved during a certain period of time, a second reminder can be defined for each individual sensor/alarm. For example, if the value in the Reminder Delay field is "4", a second reminder will be sent if an alarm is active for more than 4 minutes and has not been resolved.

To set a second reminder, go to Sensors and click the Edit button (pencil icon). Scroll down further and enter the number of minutes after which a second reminder should be sent in the "Reminder delay" field.

Edit action

If a sensor action is created e.g. because the temperature threshold is exceeded, the alarm will be visible under „Actions". To edit the action, it can be selected. In the window that opens, further details about the action can be viewed. It is also possible to change the processing status of the action and to assign it to a user.
